Pantazopoulouls Hammock Sculptures were suspended along the lawn of Ice Palace

Studios, each unique from the other. The artist playfully utilized the concept of the

hammock as a vessel for metamorphosis. Each work combines unexpected objects and overlaps

realities in a maximizing effect. Woven climbing rope, tin cans, elastic bikinis, faux chrysanthe-

mums, wool carpets, slide film, all build together in a shrine like display. Viewers were invited to

interact with the work; slumping, lounging, curling, and relaxing are all encouraged in order to

fully perceive the installation. The happenstance of the material assemblages embody luck and

superstition while also creating new connections between the past and the present, of what is

lost and found.
